Season 2 of the From Scratch journey officially kicks into high gear, and this time there are no shortcuts. The foundation built last season is now being tested through a strict boss-by-boss progression system where every kill, every drop, and every mistake matters. Welcome to the Trial of Tears—a challenge designed to push an account straight into endgame territory in buy OSRS gold.
As progression slows and grinds intensify, episodes naturally take longer. Endgame bosses demand focus, Slayer levels don't come cheap, and combat achievements refuse to be rushed. But that's exactly what makes this stage of the journey so satisfying.
The Quest Cape Milestone
With the account nearing completion of its quest list, attention turned to one of OSRS's most iconic goals: the Quest Cape. Many of the remaining quests were short, but one stood above the rest—Sins of the Father. Long, punishing, and underestimated, the final boss came down to the wire with supplies nearly gone. A close call, but a win nonetheless.
Not long after, the final quest was turned in.
The result? The Quest Cape—earned for the first time ever on this account. While its utility was somewhat diminished thanks to already-unlocked teleports, the achievement itself marked a major turning point. This was no longer a midgame account. This was endgame-ready.
Raids, Risk, and a Massive Payoff
With confidence high, attention shifted to raids. A solo run through Chambers of Xeric finally paid off with the Undying Raider combat achievement—no deaths, clean execution, and a hefty points total.
The real jackpot, however, came shortly after.
A purple chest delivered a Dexterous Prayer Scroll, followed by an even bigger moment: a high-value unique worth over 70 million GP. After tax, the cash stack surged close to 100M, opening the door for long-overdue upgrades.
An Amulet of Torture returned to the gear setup. An Avernic Defender followed soon after. The account wasn't just progressing—it was accelerating.
Slayer Breaks and Boss Detours
Boss fatigue eventually set in, prompting a shift toward Slayer. The grind pushed the account to level 88 Slayer, unlocking stronger tasks and better profit potential thanks to elite combat achievement bonuses.
This detour led to multiple boss encounters:
God Wars Dungeon for Greater Demon tasks
Totem farming and multiple kills of Skotizo
A Zamorak spear drop capped off the Greater Demon grind
While no pets appeared, the GP steadily climbed and clue scroll rewards added consistent value.
Corrupted Gauntlet Redemption
Returning to the Corrupted Gauntlet after a long break was rough at first—failed runs, heavy damage, and early exits. But persistence paid off. A crystal armor seed finally dropped, restoring momentum and injecting confidence back into the grind.
Sometimes all it takes is one good drop to reset your mindset.
A New Boss Enters the Trial
The release of Brutus shook up the combat achievement board, forcing a temporary setback in completion percentage. Still, the boss turned out to be fast, brutal, and surprisingly fun.
Combat achievements were cleared quickly:
Speed kills
No-damage runs
Even unarmed takedowns
Within 100 kills, Brutus was fully completed, elite rewards reclaimed, and another chunk of loot added to the growing bank. No pet this time—but at under two seconds per kill, returning later remains tempting.
Doom Runs and Endgame Confidence
The episode closed with repeated high-risk runs against Doom, a boss that proved far more complex than initially expected. Delve levels climbed, mistakes were punished, and mechanical discipline became essential.
Then it happened—again.
Another massive unique drop worth over 65 million OSRS gold. The cash stack exploded past 125M, cementing the account's financial stability and confirming one thing: Doom is absolutely worth learning.
The Road Ahead
With elite combat achievements secured, gear upgrades locked in, and a massive bank to support future grinds, the Trial of Tears is officially in full swing. Inferno prep, higher delve clears, and even more dangerous bosses are on the horizon.
This journey isn't about luck alone—it's about consistency, learning from mistakes, and pushing through the toughest content Old School RuneScape has to offer.
And if this episode proved anything, it's that the tears are worth it.
