Aion 2 Pet and Monetization Features Explained Before Launch | U4N

Aion 2 combines a highly detailed character creator with a pet system that turns monster hunting into a form of companion collection. More than 200 customization choices give players substantial control over their appearance, while soul-catching allows defeated monsters to become loyal companions. For players interested in Aion 2 Items, these systems provide a useful introduction to how personalization and progression may work together.

The game has also experienced an important evolution in its business model. Its initial Asian release included several aggressive monetization features that quickly became controversial, particularly when premium currency could be used for items with combat benefits. NCSoft subsequently removed those products and promised a model focused more heavily on cosmetics and convenience.

Build a Unique Character

Character creation is expected to be one of Aion 2's strongest personalization features. Players will have more than 200 options for modifying their face and body.

That amount of flexibility means players can create highly specific appearances instead of choosing from a small collection of generic designs. Players who enjoy role-playing or simply want a character that looks different from everyone else should have plenty to experiment with.

The system is designed to be detailed without forcing every player to use it manually.

Discover Community Presets

The Style Shop provides a convenient alternative to spending a long time adjusting sliders. Players can upload their favorite presets to the official website, where other members of the community can browse and select them.

This feature gives customization a social dimension. Instead of treating character appearance as a private choice made during the opening hours of the game, Aion 2 allows players to share designs and inspire one another.

For players who struggle to create a satisfying appearance, the Style Shop could also be a useful shortcut.

Turn Monster Souls Into Pets

The pet system is closely connected to gameplay. Players hunt monsters, capture their souls, and use those souls to create companions.

This makes the collection process feel more integrated into the world. Regular combat and exploration can naturally contribute toward obtaining new pets rather than requiring players to rely entirely on a separate collection activity.

It also gives players another reason to pay attention to the creatures they encounter during their adventures.

Companions Double as Mounts

Aion 2's pets offer more utility because they can also serve as mounts. Each companion has its own animations, giving different pets their own visual identity.

For collectors, this adds another layer of motivation. Players can choose companions based not only on appearance but also on which mount animation they prefer.

The result is a system that combines collection, transportation, and customization in one feature.

The Problem With the First Monetization Model

The game's initial monetization approach caused considerable controversy after the Korean and Taiwanese launch in November 2025.

Two memberships were introduced alongside a battle pass and donation store. The $14 Comfort Membership provided conveniences, while the $20 Content Membership offered stronger benefits, including increased dungeon loot and faster energy regeneration.

However, premium Quna purchases caused the largest backlash. Combat Enhancement Scrolls and Soul Books offered direct combat improvements, making players concerned that spending money could influence gameplay power.

A Rapid Developer Response

The controversy prompted producer Kim Nam-joon to address players in an emergency broadcast only hours after release. He acknowledged the decision as shortsighted and permanently removed the disputed combat-enhancing consumables.

Players also received compensation through email. Although the incident caused serious criticism and reportedly contributed to a more than 15 percent decline in NCSoft shares, Aion 2 continued to perform commercially.

The game reportedly earned approximately $70 million within its first six weeks.

The Revised Store Philosophy

After the changes, the developers stated that core content would remain available without direct payment. Story content, the open world, and PvE are expected to be accessible through basic play.

Subscriptions now focus on indirect progression conveniences and marketplace access, while the seasonal battle pass emphasizes cosmetics and minor benefits.

Quna is expected to be used primarily for visual items such as skins, mounts, and wings. Some rare cosmetic rewards can also be obtained through gameplay events and achievements.

What Western Players Should Watch

Players considering Aion 2 Boosting for sale should wait for the final regional details because European and American pricing has not yet been fully announced. The developers have suggested moving away from random loot boxes toward more predictable subscriptions and cosmetic purchases.

For anyone planning to buy Aion 2 Items, marketplace rules may be just as important as store pricing. Whether the auction house remains accessible to everyone is still a major unanswered question.

Aion 2's combination of customization, soul-catching pets, and revised monetization makes its Western release particularly worth watching.
