Finding the chest gives you 100,000 credits. That is a particularly attractive reward because most seasonal activities do not provide quite as much money in a single completion.

The larger reason to complete the hunt is the Festival Points associated with seasonal progression.

The Tokyo City Treasure Hunt is one of those tasks where knowing the exact location saves more time than having a faster car.
