Akshaya Tritiya, also known as Akti or Akha Teej, is an annual Jain and Hindu spring festival. Here, Akshaya means prosperity, and Tritiya means the third phase of the moon. Akshaya Tritiya falls on the Hindu month of Vaishakha. This days people worship Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi, offering flowers, fruits, and sweets, and also do some charity and donation. Some devotees observe a fast and visit temples for blessings. Some people buy rice, deposit money in a bank account, and buy any kind of new things or vessels. Preparing food and using tulsi, and offering prasad to others are positive activities that can be done on this day. Helping others or poor children with their education fees is a good sign of Akshaya Tritiya. Rituals are often performed to honor departed souls on this day.
