When Season 11 drops in Diablo 4, a lot of us already know what we're rolling – the Necro with a solid Minion setup. Honestly, it's the easiest way to cruise from level 1 to 60 without stressing over every drop or skill point. Been running it for seasons now, and I'm going back to it again – there's just something about standing back while your skeleton crew tears through mobs for you. You're the commander, they're the army, and it's almost autopilot once you've set things up right. If you want that smooth, no-hassle leveling experience, this is it. It's even better when you get lucky with early gear or Diablo 4 Items that make your summons tougher or hit harder.
The way it works is simple – keep your army up, keep yourself safe, and stack whatever boosts you can for them. First thing, pump points into Raise Skeleton, then grab your Golem as soon as you can. I usually slap Decrepify on packs right away – slows them down, cuts their damage, and gives the skeletons all the time they need to chew through enemies. You can drop Blight for an extra layer of Shadow damage – it's great because it also buffs the minions once you get the right passives. You're not just watching the fight from afar; you're calling the shots and stacking debuffs to make their job even easier.
The Book of the Dead really opens up at level 5 and that's where you tailor your army. Skeleton Warriors as Skirmishers early game hit harder and you get one more body in the field – huge boost for starter zones. Switch to Reapers later when you need more corpse generation for feeding skills. For Mages, I like the Cold variant – freezing and chilling enemies keeps you out of trouble and lets the Golem swing without interruption. Speaking of the Golem, I'm all about the Blood version while leveling – its life drain ability can bail you out when things get messy, plus it's a decent tank to soak up hits in harder fights.
Gear-wise, don't overthink it – you'll swap things out constantly while leveling – but if you snag certain aspects early, it's a game-changer. Aspect of Reanimation giving you more skeleton warriors feels incredible, especially in crowded fights. Aspect of the Damned is another favourite, making your Shadow damage go nuts on cursed enemies. With those in play, your army pretty much steamrolls anything in the way, even in early World Tiers. And who knows? New Seasons always bring surprise Uniques – imagine something that spawns mini-Golems from the big one. That would take this already strong setup right into endgame without a hitch. Either way, it's one of the most relaxed and rewarding ways to level, and nabbing some D4 items cheap along the way makes it all the sweeter.
