U4GM How to Use the Shaker in Arc Raiders Guide

In Arc Raiders, you learn pretty fast that "loot" isn't just a nicer rifle or a rarer mod. It's how you make it back to the gate. That's why I've started paying more attention to the weird stuff in my pack, the kind you'd normally skip while browsing ARC Raiders Items between raids. The Shaker is one of those. First time I saw it, I figured it was a gimmick. Then I brought it into a real run and it changed the way I move through a fight.

What The Shaker Actually Does

It's not a "press and forget" gadget. You equip it on the wheel, your Raider grabs this stubby canister, and you physically shake it. The sound isn't subtle either. It comes out in steady pulses, like a loud rattle you can't ignore. The big deal is the AI hears it. Machines don't just glance over, they commit. They start drifting, then marching, straight toward the noise. And if one of them is right on top of you when those pulses hit, it takes chip damage. It's not going to melt a heavy unit, but it's enough to matter when you're scraping for an edge.

Using Height And Cover

The best Shaker moments happen in the city blocks where everything stacks upward. You'll be on a staircase landing, a busted balcony, some half-collapsed office floor, and the street below is basically a trap. I've had that exact "well, we're dead" pause while watching patrol routes from above. That's where the Shaker earns its slot. From a hidden angle, you shake it for a few beats and let the noise hang in the air. The machines shuffle over and bunch up, staring at the wrong corner, leaving lanes open that were locked down a second ago.

Turning Patrols Into Your Problem, Not Theirs

You can literally watch their behavior flip. Heads turn. Bodies pivot. The route they were guarding stops mattering because the sound becomes the only thing that counts. It's a clean way to do three things: 1) peel a heavy off a chokepoint, 2) set up a backshot or a quick grenade follow-up, and 3) buy your teammate a safe crossing without firing a single round. People love talking about raw damage in this game, but control wins fights. The Shaker is control, and it feels sneaky in the best way. If you're building a kit that isn't just another gun stack, try pairing it with your usual ARC Raiders weapons and you'll start seeing routes you didn't have before.
