U4GM How to Keep Bhatairs Vengeance Rage Cold Buff Up Guide

I've been poking at Druid in PoE 2 v0.4 and, yeah, there's one interaction that feels way out of line once you get it rolling. It doesn't need rare uniques or some galaxy-brain tree, either. You just need Rage, one specific support gem, and a reliable way to freeze something on demand. If you're already farming and stocking up on PoE 2 Currency, this is the kind of setup that pays you back fast because it scales with what you're doing anyway: building Rage and staying in the fight.

What's actually happening with the buff

Bhatair's Vengeance Support is the whole reason this works. The moment you freeze an enemy, it snapshots your current Rage and turns it into extra Cold damage. It's basically "Rage becomes elemental punch," and it's way more consistent than most conditional boosts because freezing a weak target is easy. If you're sitting around 90–92 Rage (which a tuned Druid can do without trying too hard), you're looking at roughly 90%+ added Cold damage for a long window. The duration is already generous, and that's why it feels so unfair: you're not gambling on a tiny uptime, you're just turning it on and playing normally.

Your trigger skill shouldn't be your main damage button

Don't tie the freeze to the skill you're relying on for DPS. You'll end up doing awkward stuff mid-fight, or you'll miss the freeze when you need it most. Use a utility link. Lunar Assault is a clean trigger because it leans into cold conversion and builds chill/freeze well. Link it with Freeze Support so even a light tap can lock a trash mob, then add Prolonged Duration Support so the buff sticks around longer and you're not staring at timers every few seconds. The goal is simple: one quick hit, freeze happens, buff is live, swap back to your real skill.

How you keep it up in real fights

Bosses and chunky rares can be annoying to freeze right away, especially if their ailment thresholds are high or the arena is empty. So don't force it. Step one is always: find something weak. A white mob, a small add, anything that crumples. Pop Lunar Assault, get the freeze, watch for the buff icon, then go back to shredding with your main setup. If the fight has no adds, you'll want to refresh right before you enter, or during a phase where summons appear. It's a small habit, but once it clicks, the damage feels like you flipped a switch. When you're gearing and thinking about u4gm poe2 for upgrades, this is also one of those tricks where even modest gear suddenly looks "better" because the scaling is doing so much work.
